Baan Muang Karn School was first established and supported by the villagers in 1942, before it was handed over to the Thai govern- ment a few years later. Being one of the few schools in the area offering secondary grades, rough- ly 500 children from surrounding villages continue to study here.
With the Thai government’s campaign of supporting 15 years of free education, we expect that the school enrolment will increase with each academic year.
We built an additional boarding house for girls. The boys will continue to live in the existing boarding facility. Four toilets and shower facilities were also added.
