This programme is managed by our partner organisation, the diversethics Foundation.
This programme helps to prevent the spread of serious childhood illnesses.
The programme provides basic vaccines for children in the Karen state (Myanmar) including BCG for tuberculosis, DPT for diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus, Polio for poliomyelitis and MMR for mumps, measles and rubella. The vaccines are provided by 28 field staff and 3 field managers at clinics. As vaccines need to be kept cool and hence, require a cooling chain, only a limited number of children can profit from the programme at this stage.
The programme is jointly implemented by Community Partners International and the Karen Department of Health & Welfare (KDHW) and is of the Basic Health Interventions for Children (BHIC).
