Healthy ears and hearing are essential to a child’s access to education, social integration and speech and language development. This targeted project will deliver ear and hearing healthcare to children living in rural poverty who are at risk of preventable hearing loss. Clinical outreach will focus on preventing hearing loss through the management of ear disease and the dissemination of healthcare knowledge. An early detection programme will identify children with impairment and provide assistance with a hearing aid. The project is based around three of Child’s Dream focus schools located north east of the Tonle Sap lake, Siem Reap, Cambodia.
