Our very first project in Chiang Mai, Baan Gua Fan (or ‘Dream House’) was a boarding house for youths (mostly from the Akha ethnic minority group) who had to move when ChildsArt ended in 2007. With no family support, these youths had sacrificed education for work. And in an environment filled with drugs, prostitution and crime, they were in a very vulnerable position with little hopes for a future.
This home supported them in making their dreams come true through skills training in a family-like setting. Over time, these youths had blossomed from shy and insecure individuals into confident and highly motivated young adults who filled the dream house with laughters.
