Loi Kaw Wan is located in Wan Biang Fah, an IDP village on the Thai-Myanmar border, between Mae Fah Luang District of Thailand and Murng Sat Township of Shan State, Myanmar. Most people who relocated to Wan Biang Fah are from eastern Shan State and left their homes because of the atrocities of the Burmese Military. While some organisations are supporting the community and schools, the community is largely dependent on farming for self-subsistence and their small shops for some income.
